NerdByNight began as a hobby in 2003 after I rented some web space and began digging deeper into web design. I had been doing web design for a few years at the time, but wanted to go beyond the basics. After designing a website for the company I had worked for, I began to get requests from some of our distributors who were interested in building a web presence. They all had a common complaint about web design - it was too expensive.

After doing some research and discovering how much many of the professional web design companies were quoting for their services, I came up with some pricing of my own to see how much business I could generate. Soon, I was doing web design as a night job, after work, dinner and family time. Work by day, nerd by night.

Because the main goal of a website varies from client to client, and because the content is so different, pricing is never an easy task. It would be nice to offer several "value packages" with specific pricing, but then the sites tend to become too generic, which translates into "boring." Some websites are very basic, while others may require database programming, intensive graphics, flash animations and banners or an online store. All of these added features increase the cost as they can often be more time consuming than simply building the pages. Visit the pricing page for more info.
